Training program

The Endemic medicine department offers several training programs in the fields of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Infectious diseases. These programs are led by our faculty and include clinical rotations across multiple hospital sites and outpatient settings, they cover the clinical patient care, research and advanced specialized techniques.

Our endoscopy unit offers a specialized training in a variety of interventional endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), luminal stenting techniques, advanced resection techniques, endoscopic closure techniques including suturing, bariatric procedures, deep enteroscopy, and other advanced procedures.

The specialized clinics also offers an advanced training in IBD, Viral Hepatitis, HCC, Autoimmune Hepatitis, HIV and other gastrointestinal and infectious diseases. In theses programs, you work under the supervision of our expert physicians and other team members to receive comprehensive education and extensive inpatient, outpatient, and research experience.

The ultrasound unit has different training programs covering the basic abdominal ultrasound to diagnose different gastrointestinal disorders and advanced program including different invasive interventions as HCC ablation, ascitic fluid sampling and therapeutic tapping, aspiration of Hydatid cyst, aspiration of intra-abdominal collections and abscesses, Liver biopsy and biopsy from other intra-abdominal organs.
